Network protocols are set of rules and procedures that facilitate communication between different devices in a network. These protocols help to define how data is sent, received and how errors are handled. Common protocols include TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP and POP3. They allow the network to identify, transmit and receive data in a specific format.
