DNA computing is a form of computing which uses DNA, biochemistry, and molecular biology hardware, instead of traditional electronic hardware. The key difference between DNA computing and traditional computing is that DNA computing takes advantage of the massive parallelism of DNA strands to perform computations. This means that instead of using electrical signals to carry out computations, DNA computing uses the actual physical structure of DNA to carry out computations. This makes computation orders of magnitude faster than traditional computing. DNA computing has the potential to revolutionize computing, since it can be used to solve problems that are impossible or extremely difficult to solve using traditional computers.
