There are two main types of hard drives: HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and SSD (Solid State Drive). HDD is the traditional type of hard drive, using spinning platters with a read/write head to store data. SSDs are newer, using non-volatile memory chips to store data. Both types of hard drives have their own advantages and disadvantages. HDD is generally more affordable, but it is also slower and tends to be more prone to failure. SSDs are more expensive, but are faster and more reliable.
