Common ports are the network ports usually associated with certain services and applications. For example, web–based traffic typically uses port 80 for HTTP and port 443 for HTTPS. Other commonly used ports include FTP (21), SSH (22), SMTP (25), DNS (53), DHCP (68), IMAP (143) and POP3 (110).
