A packet analyzer (also known as a packet sniffer) is a type of software or hardware designed to capture and analyze network traffic passing over a computer network or part of a network. Packet analyzers are used to troubleshoot network problems, detect malicious behavior, and analyze network usage. The captured packets can be analyzed to determine the source and destination of data, and the type of data being sent. Packet analyzers can also be used to monitor and analyze network performance.
