The Linux date format is typically expressed using a 24–hour clock in the form of “MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS“, where MM is the two–digit month, DD is the two–digit day of the month, YYYY is the four–digit year, HH is the two–digit hour, MM is the two–digit minute, and SS is the two–digit second. This format is more commonly referred to as the ISO 8601 standard format.
