TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is a set of rules (protocol) used along with the Internet Protocol (IP) to send data in the form of text messages and audio/video in a network. TCP ensures that data is delivered correctly and in the same order it was sent. TCP is a connection-oriented protocol, meaning it requires the sender and receiver to establish a connection before any data can be sent.
