Router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers are used to connect two or more networks, such as local area networks (LANs) or wide area networks (WANs), and can be used to connect a variety of different types of networks, such as wired and wireless. Routers can also be used to connect to the Internet. Routers can perform network address translation (NAT), which allows them to hide internal network addresses, and also allow for virtual private network (VPN) connections. Routers can also be used to provide firewall protection for a network, and can be used to control access to the Internet.
