BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is a routing protocol used to exchange routing and reachability information among autonomous systems (AS) on the Internet. BGP is an exterior gateway protocol (EGP) used to route traffic between different ASs on the Internet. BGP is used for routing traffic between different autonomous systems over the Internet.
OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) is a routing protocol used within a single autonomous system (AS) to route traffic between different networks within the autonomous system. OSPF is an interior gateway protocol (IGP) used to route traffic within an autonomous system. OSPF is used for routing traffic within a single autonomous system and is based on the link-state routing algorithm.
