Mint is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu that includes additional software, media codecs, an improved look and feel, and better desktop integration. Ubuntu is a Linux operating system that is based on Debian. Ubuntu is more focused on providing a user-friendly experience for the end user, whereas Mint is more focused on providing a customised experience for the end user. Ubuntu is more popular and widely used, while Mint is less popular and more geared towards experienced Linux users.
