Cat 6 cable, also known as Category 6 cable, is a type of cable used for 10–Gigabit Ethernet connections in homes and businesses. It is commonly used in network cables, patch cables, and any other type of cabling that requires higher data transmission speeds than Cat 5 cables are capable of providing. Cat 6 cables feature improved shielding and twisted pair internal wiring to reduce noise and crosstalk.
