If you are using Windows, you can use the built–in Command Prompt to check if your computer is listening on port 80. To do this, open a command prompt and type “netstat –a”. If your computer is listening on port 80, you will see an entry that says “TCP 0.0.0.0:80”. If you don’t see this entry, then port 80 is not open.
If you are using Linux or Mac OS X, you can use the “lsof” command to check if port 80 is open. To do this, open a terminal window and type “sudo lsof –i:80”. If your computer is listening on port 80, you will see an entry that says “LISTEN”. If you don’t see this entry, then port 80 is not open.
