In order to change the Distinguished Name (DN) of an object in Active Directory, you will need to use the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.
1. Open the MMC Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in.
2. Right-click on the object that you wish to modify and select “Properties”.
3. Select the “Attribute Editor” tab.
4. Find the “distinguishedName” attribute and double-click on it.
5. Enter the new DN in the “Value” field and click “OK”.
6. Click “Apply” and “OK” to save the changes.
