1. Log into the server running Active Directory as an administrator.
2. Open the Active Directory Users and Computers console from the Administrative Tools menu.
3. Right–click the domain name from the console tree and select the Rename option.
4. Enter the new domain name, then click OK.
5. Select Yes to confirm the change.
6. Follow the wizard to complete the domain rename process.
7. Restart the server once the rename operation is complete.
