1. Go to the Start menu and type “Network and Sharing Center” into the search bar.
2. Click on Change advanced sharing settings.
3. Select the type of network you want to change from the list on the left, either Private or Public.
4. Click on the radio button for the type of network you want.
5. Click Save changes.
1. Open the Settings app and go to the Network & Internet group of settings.
2. Select the Ethernet or Wi-Fi tab, depending on your connection type.
3. Click the name of your network.
4. Select “Turn on network discovery” and “Turn on file and printer sharing”.
5. Click the “Change advanced sharing settings” link.
6. Expand the “Private” profile, and turn on the following settings:
• Turn on network discovery
• Turn on file and printer sharing
• Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections
7. Click the “Save changes” button.
Your network should now be set to private.
