To check if you have Gigabit Ethernet, you will need to first find the details of your local area network. This can be done by going into the Network and Sharing Centre on Windows computers, or System Preferences on Mac computers. From here you should be able to see details of your connection, including the type of Ethernet connection. If it says either 1000 Mbps or Gigabit then you have a Gigabit Ethernet connection.
