1. Use the “smit” command:
Open the “System Management” menu by typing “smit” at the command prompt. Select “System Environments” –> “Networking” –> “Network Interfaces” –> “TCP/IP”. Select the interface you wish to check and select “Change/Show Characteristics of Device”. Select “Security” and the “TLS Version” field will be displayed.
2. Use the “lslpp” command:
At the command prompt, type “lslpp -L | grep security” and the version of TLS installed on the system will be displayed.
The easiest way to check the TLS version on an AIX server is to run the following command from a terminal window:
# lslpp –L | grep tls
This will display all of the installed packages that contain the string ‘tls’ in their description, which may include TLS version numbers as well. If you don’t see a package that includes TLS information, try running ‘# lslpp –l’ to list out all installed packages and grep for the term ‘tls’.
Click Start or press the Windows key. In the Start menu, either in the Run box or the Search box, type regedit and press Enter. The Registry Editor window should open and look similar to the example shown below. Check the subkeys for each SSL/TLS version for both server and client.
