1. Plug an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your Mac Air.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to an Ethernet wall jack or to an Ethernet router.
3. Open System Preferences on your Mac Air.
4. Select the Network icon.
5. Select Ethernet from the list of available interfaces.
6. Select the Configure IPv4 drop-down menu.
7. Select the option for Manual.
8. Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and router address provided by your network administrator.
9. Click Apply.
10. Your Mac Air is now connected to the Ethernet network.
