1. Connect your computer to the network. Depending on your network setup, you may need to connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to the router, or connect to a wireless network.
2. Open the Network and Sharing Center. Click the Start button, then click Control Panel. Under Network and Internet, click View network status and tasks.
3. Select the connection type. In the left pane, click Change adapter settings. Then, select the connection type you want to use (e.g. Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
4. Connect the network. Right click on the connection type you selected and click Connect/Disconnect. Enter your network credentials (if required) and click Connect.
5. Test the connection. Once connected, open a web browser and try to access a website. If you’re able to view the website, you have successfully connected to the internet.
