1. Strip the outer jacket of the Cat 5 cable, leaving about an inch of the cable exposed.
2. Separate and untwist the four pairs of wires, making sure they don’t touch each other.
3. Line up the wires in the order specified by the manufacturer of the cable.
4. Insert the wires into the RJ-45 connector. Make sure that the wires are securely inserted and that none of the wires are sticking out of the connector.
5. Use a crimping tool to crimp the RJ-45 connector onto the Cat 5 cable. Make sure to apply enough pressure so that the connector is securely attached to the cable.
6. Trim any excess wires from the RJ-45 connector.
7. Repeat the process for the other end of the cable.
