To enable IPV6 on a switch, you need to first configure your router or firewall to support IPV6 addressing. To do this, you will likely need to add an IPV6 address to the router and then configure the switch itself to use that address. Once this is done, you will need to configure the switch‘s VLANs (if they are enabled) to support IPV6 addressing as well. Finally, you will need to configure the switch‘s interface settings to enable IPV6 traffic. In most cases, this involves typing in a command such as “ipv6 enable” or “ipv6 address x.x.x.x” into the command–line interface. Depending on the model of switch you are using, it may also be necessary to enable IGMP snooping or multicast routing for IPV6 traffic.
