1. Open the VMware software and select the virtual machine you want to work with.
2. Click Edit virtual machine settings.
3. Select USB Controller from the left panel and select USB compatibility.
4. Select USB 2.0 or 3.0, whichever is required, and click OK.
5. Start the virtual machine and connect the USB device.
6. Your virtual machine should detect the USB device in the system settings.
