The most reliable way to find a portal to the End is to build an Ender Portal. This is done by collecting 12 Ender Eyes, which can be obtained by killing Endermen in the Overworld. These eyes can then be used to construct a frame made of obsidian blocks and activated with a Flint and Steel. The frame will then activate the portal and transport you to the End.
