If you are using a SOCKS proxy on your Mac, you can remove it by following these steps:
1. Open System Preferences and select Network.
2. Select the network connection that is using the SOCKS proxy from the left-hand side.
3. Click on Advanced and then Proxies.
4. Uncheck the box for SOCKS Proxy.
5. Click OK and then Apply.
Your Mac should now no longer be using the SOCKS proxy.
