1. Locate the coaxial cable connection from your cable service provider.
2. Connect one end of the coaxial cable to the wall outlet and the other end to the cable modem.
3. Plug the power cord for the cable modem into the power outlet.
4. Connect an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on the cable modem to the Ethernet port on your computer.
5. Turn on your computer.
6. Open the web browser on your computer and enter the IP address of your cable modem (this is usually printed on the bottom of the modem).
7. Follow the instructions to setup the modem.
8. Reboot the cable modem by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
9. Test your connection by visiting a website.
