1. Check your cables and connections: Make sure all cables and connections to the modem, router and computer are secure and properly connected.
2. Change your DNS server: A DNS server is used to convert website names into their corresponding IP addresses. Changing your DNS server to a public one, like Google’s DNS or OpenDNS, can improve your internet connection speed.
3. Change your wireless channel: Wireless networks broadcast on different frequencies (channels). Changing the channel can improve your connection speed.
4. Update your router’s firmware: Routers require periodic software updates to remain secure and run properly. Check your router’s manufacturer website for any updates and follow their instructions for installation.
5. Check for interference: Other wireless networks, cordless phones, and Bluetooth devices can cause interference with your connection. Try to keep them away from your router to reduce interference.
6. Check your speed: Check your internet connection speed to make sure you are getting the speed you are paying for. Use a speed test website like speedtest.net to test your connection speed.
7. Change your modem: If your modem is older, it may not be able to handle the speed of your internet connection. Try upgrading to a newer model that is capable of providing faster speeds.
