1. Unplug all power cords from the motherboard and remove any expansion cards and other components.
2. Remove the screws that hold the CPU cooler in place and remove the cooler from the CPU.
3. Carefully line up the CPU pins with the motherboard socket and gently lower the CPU onto the socket.
4. Secure the CPU by pressing down the retaining latch.
5. Reinstall the CPU cooler and the other components.
6. Plug all power cords back into the motherboard and turn on the computer.
