1. Download the repository configuration file: You need to download the repository configuration file for the repository that you want to set up. This file is usually named as “*.repo” and is available for download from the website of the repository.
2. Place the file in correct directory: Copy the downloaded file to “/etc/yum.repos.d/” directory.
3. Enable the repository: You can enable or disable the repository by setting enabled flag to 1 or 0 respectively. The configuration file should contain a line like: “enabled=1”.
4. Refresh YUM cache: Once the configuration file has been saved, you need to refresh the YUM cache as follows:
$ sudo yum clean all
$ sudo yum makecache
5. Install packages from the new repository:
Now you can install packages from the newly added repository as usual.
