1. Gather the necessary materials. You will need two Ethernet cables and a crimping tool.
2. Cut one of the Ethernet cables in half.
3. Strip the plastic insulation off each end of the cut Ethernet cable.
4. Separate the pairs of wires.
5. Line up the wires from each of the two Ethernet cables so that the corresponding colored wires are matched up.
6. Twist the corresponding wires together.
7. Use the crimping tool to secure each pair of wires together.
8. Cover the connection with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing.
9. Connect the two cables together by plugging one end into each other.
10. Test the connection by plugging the cable into a computer and network device to ensure a proper connection.
