      1. Unpack your Linksys router and connect the power adapter to the power port. Plug the adapter into an outlet and power on the router.

      2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Internet port of the router and the other end to the modem.

      3. Connect a computer to any of the remaining Ethernet ports on the router.

      4. Open a web browser and enter “192.168.1.1” into the address bar. This will open the router’s web-based setup page.

      5. Enter the username and password of your router, which can be found in the user manual.

      6. Go to the Network Settings tab and configure the router to use either DHCP or static IP address.

      7. Go to the Wireless tab and configure the router to use WPA2-PSK encryption and enter a secure password.

      8. Click Save and your router is now set up.
