1. Connect the router to your modem. Using an Ethernet cable, plug one end into the back of the modem and the other into the WAN or internet port on the router.
2. Connect your computer to the router. Plug an Ethernet cable into one of the numbered ports on the router and the other end into your computer.
3. Power on the modem and router. Check that all the lights on the modem and router come on.
4. Open your web browser and enter the router’s IP address. This can usually be found at the back of the router or in the user manual.
5. Log in to the router. Enter the username and password. This can also usually be found at the back of the router or in the user manual.
6. Configure the router. Follow the onscreen instructions to customize your network, setting the network name (SSID), password, and other settings.
7. Test the connection. Once the router is setup, use your computer to test the connection to the internet.
