Ospf is an Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) protocol, which uses link–state routing algorithms and is designed for large networks. It quickly converges and rapidly responds to topology changes.
Eigrp is a hybrid protocol that utilizes both distance vector and link state routing protocols. It is scalable, easy to configure, recovers quickly from network disruptions, and can provide metrics such as bandwidth, load balancing, delay, and reliability to route more efficiently. EIGRP is ideal for small to medium sized networks, as it requires less administrative maintenance.
