Category 7 (Cat7) Ethernet cable is a type of twisted pair cable that is used for high–speed Ethernet connections. It can support 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 Gbps) speeds at a maximum of 100 meters in length. Cat7 is the most advanced type of Ethernet cable available and uses shielded, four–pair cables to provide increased noise protection and higher speeds than Cat5e and Cat6 cables. It also has a higher bandwidth than most other cabling standards, typically allowing up to 600 MHz of bandwidth. Cat7 cables are usually installed as permanent links between devices, such as patch panels and wall outlets, but can also be used in short patch cords.

Honeynets and honeypots are both security measures used to capture malicious activity on a network. Both rely on deception to hide a networked system or group of systems from being discovered. The key difference between the two is that honeynets are comprised of multiple different honeypots, connected together to create a complex network of decoy systems.
