To enable TLS 1.2 on Windows Server 2016,open the registry editor (Start>Run>regedit) then navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols
Inside Protocols, you will see several keys representing various versions of TLS with each containing several subkeys.
Create a new key under Protocols named “TLS 1.2” if it is not already present.
In the right-hand pane, right-click the “Enabled” value and select “Modify” from the context menu.
Change the value to “1” and click OK.
Now, under the TLS 1.2 key, create a new key named “Server” and then inside that, create another key named “Default”.
Finally, in the right-hand pane of the Default key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value named “Enabled” with a value of “1”.
Close the registry editor, restart your server and TLS 1.2 should now be enabled.
