OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) is a link-state Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP), while BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is an exterior gateway protocol (EGP). OSPF is designed to work within a single autonomous system, while BGP is designed to work between autonomous systems. OSPF uses a link-state routing algorithm to determine the shortest path between two points, while BGP uses a path-vector routing algorithm to determine the best path between two points. OSPF is a classless protocol, while BGP is a classful protocol. OSPF is faster and simpler to configure than BGP, but BGP is more scalable and able to handle more complex networks.
