In computer networking, port is a logical entity which acts as a endpoint of communication to identify a specific process or a type of network service. It consists of an address and a port number which are used by the transport layer protocols like TCP and UDP to send and receive data over a network. In simple words, a port is a communication channel between two or more computers on a network.
