To properly communicate with and use the functionality of hardware, Windows needs the correct device drivers installed. These drivers provide a bridge between the hardware and the operating system, allowing the hardware to be recognized by the operating system and allowing the necessary commands to be sent to the hardware. Without the drivers installed, Windows will not be able to properly communicate with and use the hardware.
