A BIOS update is a software update to the Basic Input/Output System, which is stored in read–only memory on a computer‘s motherboard. The purpose of the BIOS is to provide an interface between the operating system and the hardware components of a computer. BIOS updates often include new features and bug fixes for the operating system and are released periodically by the computer manufacturer.
