A client–server network is a distributed application architecture that partitions tasks or workloads between the suppliers of a resource or service, called servers, and the requestors of that service, called clients. A client–server network allows multiple users on multiple computers to share resources located on central servers. Servers can provide various services, such as providing data storage, application platforms, communications, and access control for other computers on the network.
