DHCP Option 43 is a configuration option used in DHCP server/client messages that provides information on a DHCP client configured with a particular vendor‘s IP Phone. It is typically used by VoIP systems that use the DHCP protocol such as Cisco CallManager and Avaya Communication Manager. This option provides the list of TFTP servers, voice VLAN information, and other specific information required for the DHCP client devices to properly configure themselves for communication with VoIP solutions.
