Dial up modem is an online connection method that uses a telephone line to connect to the internet. It requires a modem to be connected to both ends of the line (from the computer to the telephone line) and a dial–up program in order to establish the connection. Dial up modems offer slower connection speeds than more modern technologies such as cable or DSL internet.
