DOCSIS 3.1 is a new modem standard used to make high–speed cable internet connections. It stands for Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification and it is the latest version of the DOCSIS standard. It is 10 times faster than DOCSIS 3.0 and it can reach speeds of up to 10 Gbps. DOCSIS 3.1 modems are available from many providers, such as Comcast and Cox, and they offer much faster internet speeds than previous generations of modems.
