A fiber router is a router that uses fiber optic cables to transmit data signals between two or more computers or network devices. Fiber routers are typically used in larger networks and are capable of transmitting data at higher speeds than traditional copper–based router systems. They also offer the advantage of being less susceptible to outside interference.
