An Internet hub is a networking device which is used to connect multiple devices or networks together. It usually works at the physical layer (Layer 1) of the OSI Model and is used to receive and transmit data from one network to another. A hub functions as a central connection point for devices in the same subnet, such as computers, printers, and servers. It does not provide any type of security or control, so it is generally recommended that a switch be used in place of a hub when connecting multiple devices to a network.
