A network packet is a structured unit of data that is transmitted across a computer network. It contains data, such as source and destination addresses, as well as user data. Network packets are created by a sender to send across the network and are received by the receiver. The receiver then reads the packet and extracts the information, such as the source and destination addresses, as well as the user data.
