The primary duties of a server include: ensuring customer satisfaction by providing fast, friendly service; taking customer orders, presenting menu items and explaining their preparedness; serving food and drinks according to customer preferences; collecting payment from customers; cleaning and setting tables; stocking counters and revolving trays; restocking kitchen supplies; preparing and serving specialty dishes; recommending food and drink items; and handling customer complaints.
