The TAPI library is a Windows operating system component that provides an application programming interface (API) for interacting with telephone services. It enables applications to control telephony devices and services, such as modems and PBX systems, and allows them to perform voice-related tasks, like placing and receiving calls, and establishing connections. TAPI is a standard interface supported by a variety of telephony hardware and software vendors.
