Fibre is preferable to copper cabling because it offers higher bandwidth and longer distances, is immune to interference and crosstalk, is lighter, and is more secure. Fibre is also more reliable than copper because it does not corrode or degrade and is less susceptible to lightning strikes and power surges. Fibre is also much more cost–effective than copper and can be easily installed with minimal disruption.
