The Internet Architecture Board (IAB) was created in 1992 to provide guidance and technical oversight of the Internet’s standards and protocols. The IAB oversees the development of Internet standards, including the coordination of Internet protocol architecture, its associated engineering and management, and the development of related technical documents. Additionally, the IAB provides guidance on the use of Internet technologies and works with the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to ensure that Internet standards developed by the IETF are compatible with the overall Internet architecture.
