1. Open the Network Connections window: Right–click the Start menu and select Network Connections from the context menu, or type ncpa.cpl into the Run box.
2. Select your network adapter from the list of connections—typically Wi–Fi or Ethernet. Right–click it and select Properties.
3. Select Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) from the list of items in the network connection‘s Properties window, then click the Properties button.
4. Select the option Use the following IPv6 address, then type the details of your static IPv6 address in the boxes provided. If necessary, enter the Prefix Length and IPv6 Default Gateway too. Finally, click the OK button.
5. To apply the changes, right–click the network connection again and select Disable, wait a few seconds, then right–click it again and select Enable. Your static IPv6 address should now be applied.
